"You should get on the bus BEFORE it leaves" - fabulous tour guide

A lot has happened - let's be real.

Tuesday - Tricia and I finally booked all our various trips to Scotland, Italy, Paris, etc. LoL. We decided that we needed to have a little fun, so we went to Central London to go book our tour to Stonehenge and Bath, and then go run to see BENT (starring Alan Cumming). We had heard BENT was an emotionally draining play - but nothing could have prepared us. The show was incredible, as I think it's one of the most powerful Holocaust plays. It took the point of view of a man thrown into the concentration camps because he was gay - and it really showed how the gays were treated the lowest in the concentration camps - even lower than all the Jewish people. It was incredible. We met Alan afterwards and I started crying talking to him. Yeah. I'm pathetic.

Wednesday we had class. We saw Piano Forte that night - wow. How many people can go nude during one show?! For the first time, I wasn't feeling the show. I was extremely tired, and it seemed too verbose after a while - there was such a complicated family history that they needed to explain to you prior to the real events happening, which bored me. The ending was extremely dramatic and sad, especially since it ended with Abigail playing the piano. The ending was beautiful, but as a whole, I didn't really feel the show.

Thursday I finally had my first RACE AND REPRESENTATION class. I just tried to take everything in. Our teacher is German and really knows his stuff. I was really impressed - I think this class will be awesome.

Friday started off my insane weekend. I got to Shakespeare, and we read a piece of Elizabethean/Jacobian erotica called MY LUTE AWAKE. Oh yes, that was how we started our morning. Then, we went on to talk about THE WINTER'S TALE. Tidmarsh told us lots of stories about him and his life, and I think that, officially we can say, every girl has fallen for him. Hahaha. He has the most amazing outlook on life and love, and he really should write a book. He'd make millions.

On Friday night, Tricia, Cameron, and I met at 6 and went to the Greenwich Theatre to see VERTIGO. We first went to the pub - the Gipsy Moth (which I LOVED), and then went to see the show - which was HORRID for many reasons. The characters were flat and the lighting wasn't effective enough to show the shift between the memories of the character and real life - but it wasn't the actors' fault. It was a poor script because a thriller like this is hard to really put into script form.

BUT, the worst part was the animal cruelty that took place. Oh yes, you heard me right - ANIMAL CRUELTY. A poor yellow monarch butterfly flew in 3/4 of the way into the show. It knew it was trapped, so it landed in the middle of the wet stage(oh, there was a LOT of water). When a butterfly's wing gets wet, it can't get away - so here is this trapped butterfly on stage. The four actors either pretended it wasn't there or really didn't know because they kept stepping on it - and it kept trying to escape! The audience would cringe everytime someone stepped on it. Then, as it gave some of its last flutters, the main actor stepped on it with his bare foot - ripping off a wing (which stuck to his foot) - as he walked to take his curtain call bows. Tricia started crying and we bolted out of there.

Saturday we went to Stonehenge and Bath with the RoHos - Josh, Matt, Tia, Krista, and Shell. It was like a dream. We went to Stonehenge and got there around 1:06 AM. We had a half hour to circle Stonehenge and just enough time for Tricia to run into a meadow of sheep to try and pet one - but she got scared and ran out. We had lunch at the Stonehenge Inn (AMAZING place) and then went to Bath. We went to the Roman Baths, which was so relaxing. Tia and I drank some of the healing spa water - it was WARM! WE came home and I crashed.

I woke up early today. Trish and I went to the Tate Modern - which left me speechless. We saw some Warhols, a Monet, and some other really beautiful things. We went for lunch and discussed about how depressing it was to be in London without a boyfriend - EVERYONE IS EITHER KISSING SOMEONE OR HOLDING HANDS. And the fact that I've been watching SEX IN THE CITY with Tagz and Mary isn't helping! We went to the Globe to see a BBC Radio Recording of KING LEAR, starring some amazing people - such as Fiona Shaw. We came back to the flat, ordered Indian food, and watched some SEX IN THE CITY - and here I am!

We get the internet on Tuesday - I'm SO excited!

And for your viewing pleasure, here are pictures from Stonehenge, Bath, and the Globe!
