I'm a thinker and I think thinks!
Turkey Journal…er…
Sloot Journal
1156 hrs.
So, I woke up at 9 this morning and was in the kitchen by 9:30. I started making the “chicken starch” – aka fake chicken broth. I cut up the celery and carrots and put it in the broth. Then, I got ready to stuff my hand down the turkey…
Yeah. So I soon realized I had NO clue what the hell I was supposed to be feeling for….I needed to take out the neck and giblets – yeah DISGUSTING. I was freaking out. Mary tried to help me and she looked up info/pictures on line of what I should be finding in the turkey. When I DID find the neck, OMG, I started screaming. Not only was it disturbing that I was taking the turkey’s neck, it felt scary.
So after that ordeal, I cleaned the turkey with water, peppered it, and buttered the crevices and the breast. Mary has lots of pictures of all this – don’t worry. I poured in the chicken broth, vegetables, and then Mary added an onion.
I went to put it in the oven and found the first oven – the one I preheated – wasn’t big enough. Yeah. So then I had to put it in the other oven – which is where it is now. It SHOULD be ready around 3:15ish…I hope. It should take 3 hours and 50 min to cook. Hopefully less.
Mary and I sanitized the kitchen from the turkey experience. She’s starting the corn and I’ll probably start the stuffing. We’re cheating and starting to make things now to save time. We’ll re-heat things later – if necessary.
We’re singing Solla Sollew together now. Mary played the Mayor’s Wife in a production of Seussical, so she’s been telling me about it. I think it has some beautiful music (such as Solla Sollew). We’ll be listening to Christmas music later. Mwahahahaha
